hello all new to forums and still kinda new to turkey hunting 3rd year this year but completely hooked its got me by the short hairs
only killed one bird the past two years but only get hunt public ground so im learning to very patient any advice for a new hunter would be great

Thanks for serving! My dad was a Marine and is a Vietnam Veteran. I have a special place in my heart for Marines.

Welcome Jar, I also hunt about 80% public land. What I've found in the 24 years of chasing these feathered freaks is that you'll do a lot better with a med-high pitched call with a lot of rasp in it. Learn to talk to the hens and and not the gobblers. Fall and winter is the best time to learn hen talk, get out and listen to them without making any noise. The birds are your best teachers.
