Big Gobblers

I have been seeing more big gobblers late this summer than I've ever seen at this time of year. I've seen them singly and in groups of 3 or 4 quite often. These are big, heavy birds with long thick beards. It's just been uncommon to see so many at this time of year. I've even seen a couple in full strut!

Doris and I went to a shoot at Rend Lake Shooting Complex in Ina, IL last weekend and as we turned off the highway into the complex, we saw 4 very large birds with long beards.

Now, if we can just find them in October.
