hunting fall birds

Ive used dekes in areas where the local flock has been broke up a few times and the birds arent really into "regrouping" as quickly...

I've tried the fall thing a couple of time and shot a jake.he just happened past ,but the hills I hunt it's pretty tuff to scatter birds without giving myself a heart attack on those hills.

sounds like a job for a turkeydog or forget the scatter and just call 'em in . scattering flocks is the traditional method of fall hunting ,,,but it ain't a law . it's a lot less taxing on the body, especially if your over the hill like myself , to just slowpoke around the timber and strike up some turkey talk periodically . you can end up with the whole flock in your lap,,,,lots of eyes to deceive too. I CAN'T WAIT!!

guess your right...even if you ain't 40 them hills suck...but if there was a bird gobblin i'd figure out a way to get to him (even if it took all day)...welcome back dood,where ya been hidin?

I've been here.  I just took a break from the Internet.  However, I'm not going back to the Dark Side.  I can handle the rough talk and all the barbs thrown my way, but, what I won't stand for is being treated like a second-class citizen.  'Tis a shame really; I was getting to like some of them boys.

Despite your juvenile assumptions about me you were one of the ones I was starting to like...because you offered good advice.  Your assumptions are just that, assumptions, and wrong.

I'll never hunt like the traditional taliban, so why would I want to be labeled as a member?  I think it's an insult.  To belong to the traditional taliban you must insult others who don't hunt like you think turkey hunters did in the early 1900's.  I don't insult others for how they hunt.  I don't care how you hunt; you attacked me for how I hunt.  Thus, the label of traditional taliban.
