Yesterday afternoon I met a friend and his kids at the rifle range for some shootin' therapy . They had been there on sunday as well . Chad said he heard a turkey . Said it was kee kee kee kee . He pointed toward where the call was coming from and my mind immediately went into turkey mode as I mentally reviewed the woods and landscape in that area . I am as you say '' pumped up '' for fall seson .

A little more than 8 weeks ( or 60 days ) til opening day in NH! 64 DAYS to be exact!

any day i can get out. i had my best success on sunny days on days following a all day rain. the leaves are wet so you can walk quiet and the turkeys seem to be more interrested in eating.

quite days are the best so you can hear ...esp with dogs...they might be 200 or more yards ahead of you ...i need to hear the barking to detrerminre the flush sight for my set up ...when i hear birds i freeze....and look for the birds......last year in tenn. it was so windy after a break i kept calling in birds that were probably talking but i couldnt hear em....id see a turkey in range ...but they already saw me  3 different birds...fudge....anyways instead of killing my limit of 2 birds i only killed one and that was before the strong winds....so i say  QUITE days
