How do you use a gobble tube to make tom yelps, etc?

Gobbler talk can be made on some boxes , slates , scratchbox, and mouthcalls . As well as wingbones and trumpets . Not that I can , but have heard a few that do it well . My favorite is the mouthcall , followed by the scratchbox . I have a couple slates that produce excellent gobbler clucks too .

sorry, Duke, I just noticed your question.  So far, I havent found a "go to" striker.  I have a bunch that I've tried on it, and each has it's own sound.  I'll go back and see which ones I can get the best tom sounds out of and let you know.  Unfortunatley i don't have any synthetic strikers, so I can't comment on those yet.

remember when making gobbler yelps they are a slower rythem and a krOnk sound,,,,deep raspy....instead of the kElk of a hen ....like the O in gobbler  and the E  in hen....in fall hunting always mimick the birds....thats the key ....a trained ear can tell a gobbler from a hen.....[8|]
