More like a month but whos counting. [:D]

I was down in the big turkey stompin' grounds this mornin' . Saw a few turkeys .
Did some glassin' on some big white oaks,,,,couldn't see any acorns .
There are quite a number of small fields that are being farmed within the area . Some were in wheat this spring , but I don't know if they were second cropped with beans after the wheat was cut. The two largest fields in the area are in beans and the remainder are in corn . I expect that corn will harbor a great number of deer , turkeys and songdogs .
The sassafras trees are turnin' .

I am ready! I am going to start driving around and checking some of the fields being cut. Havent been in the woods yet to check the hardwoods. I know where the turkeys are its just a matter of getting a fix on their roosting and feeding areas! taking a week off in October! Hopefully gonna hunt ME , VT and NH!
Impatience is hard to ignore, but patience puts the bird in the truck!

I've been seeing turkeys all over the place here in Pa. Only a month and a half to Ny season. Glad I hunt there also because I wouldn't be able to wait until Pa season starts in November.

had to smile , on my way to work saturday morning i was driveing along at 7:00 a.m when a big old hen walk right out in front of me got in the middle of the road and stoped i came to a complet halt . she went to yelping and 4 little ones came running form the woods across the road into a oat feild that was just cut. after they made their way into the feild she went on her way. oh by the way i'm for one am counting down the days 45 more to go[:D]wayne
