41 degrees and clear this morning so I took a little walk behind the house. There have been a group of poultless hens roosting about 200 yards from my back door, they weren't around this morning but they have that section of woods all torn up. I've got the turkey flu real bad and the only cure isn't available to Oct 1st.

Man I looked out the door this morning hint of color on some of the leaves and upper 40's temp.I am about to pop a vein.Right now I'm as giddy as a kid on Christmas.

Eggshell,,,,,you must be doin' something wrong in your swing on those doves ,,,,to kill 60 in a week ,,, You and I will get together sometime and I'll teach ya first hand ,,,how to miss more than you hit . I have never taken my limit on any outing , but I don't hit it like some fellers .
 
I'm nearly as anxious for this coming sat. as I am for turkey season ,,,,,just to get out and roam the hills,,,with my tackdriver 22.

Hey Mark,

15 doves down, 45 to go. I actually may back off that 60, I am not sure I can go four days this week. Man the price of shells keep going up I'll need some practice, but I didn't do bad today. I think i shot between 30 to 35 rounds for my fifteen.

My buddies tried the squirrels and found fairly slim pickens. They got 4 between to two of them. This is all just something to do untill it's time to put the big birds down.

We don't eat too many squirrels . I generally try to keep a co-worker supplied with several throughout the fall and winter. I use it to get back into the habit of sneaking , re-establish skills that have gone soft over the summer . And I always enjoy a good long shot on a gray that is playing peekaboo with me . If they had any idea of my rifles accuracy they'd hit the ground runnin' and change zip codes .
Only head shots count! Body hits are considered misses in my book.

Hey Mark, I have the "fever" 365 days a year it never goes away. The "flu" and it's nasty side affects can usually be somewhat controlled with some quality time in the woods chasing turkeys.
