Question for Clark

Well I did it! I went ahead and ordered the SSX for my 835 Tactical with 20" Barrel. Now I want to shoot the 3.5" rounds thru it so do you have a recommendation? I know on an earlier post you stated that you shoot the 3" but I guess I am a glutton for punishment! Plus I have all the ammo below. Let me tell you what I do have in the ammo box.

Winchester Supreme Double X magnum 3.5" 2 1/4oz of #5's
Winchester Supreme Double X magnum 3.5" 2oz of #6's
Federal Hevi 13's 2 1/4oz of #5's

If What I need isn't on here could you help me out? BTW N. Florida turkey season has been slow so far. Went out Saturday and didn't hear one gobble. I did manage to call in a ton of hens, waited around for him to show up but nothing. Georgia opener is this Saturday and I can't wait.

Hey Mack,

Well...if you want to shoot the 3.5" shells, there's just nothing better on the market in my experience than the Hevi-13 "Gold" shells with 2.25 oz. of #6 shot. It will do the job!

Thanks for the info I really appreciate it. I have only 3 Rds left so I guess I better head down to Gander Mt! Cant wait for the choke to get here! Gonna deep clean the barrel once again and hopefully knock one down this weekend. What can I expect on a 10" at 40 yards with this?

Mack you'd be better off with a 3" shell in that short barreled gun. You'll get a much better pattern out of it and you'll be able to shoot farther with it that with the 3.5" shell.

The only stuff Gander had was the winchester Supreme 3" 2oz #6's . Hope this works well.
