I'll freely admit I only know how much Hevi-Shot is in my 10 gauge Nitro Shells.

I meant to say a fixed full-choke single shot will kill turkeys just fine with low-brass 2.75" shells with #6 lead shot out to 40 yards.

That is not completely true.  I have seen some 2 3/4 inch shotgun/load combinations that should not be used at 30 yards.

i shoot a 2 3/4 inch chambered double ,,,,,the biggest payload i've found is 1 5/8 oz.

I haven't shot a 2 3/4 " load since the 70s.  The only shell I used back then were the Double X Magnum loads.  I had a couple of guns that wouldn't pattern well at thirty yards with those loads.  There were no choke tubes then.  That was before people spent several hundred dollars on choke tubes to find the one that would pattern well with their gun.

But the answer to your question is not in the combinations, but what the pattern paper had to say.

OK, I'll modify my statement; given an adequate pattern, even 12 gauge low-brass 2.75" shells with #6 lead shot had/have the capability (energy) to kill a turkey.
