Someone told me today that Browning owns Mossberg and they share patents as well as the design for the 835, is that true to anyone's knowledge here?

I just ran a google for S & G and I couldn't find anything on it so I have no idea.  I would think if they did they would be sharing tech and you would see some "more attention to detail" in a mossberg if it were so.  Maybe clark can chime in and let us know.  He is truly the man when it comes to shotgun tech and general knowledge.

I am far from an expert but I think Federal and Mossberg developed the 835 3 1/2" gun. I am not sure if Browning has any ties to Mossberg or not. I think Browning and Winchester share a lot of the same technology now.
