I've killed turkeys out to 45 and 50 yards with Federal Premium #6's copper plated bb's 3" many times

I use rem wingmaster hd # 6 works for me.

Thanks JB I appreciate the info. I guess I just have the itch to get the old Model 12 into the woods again. I killed a lot of birds with the 30" full choke 2 3/4" and it took a lot of convinceing before I made the switch to a 3".

Turkeybuster,

I have a Winchester Model 12 Heavy Duck Gun with a 30" barrel and a fixed full choke.  My wife inherited it from her father.  Despite the fixed full choke, I've taken a lot of doves with that shotgun.  That gun just comes up and is pointed at what you want to shoot.
