pellets on target

Ok boys and girls,

When patterning your turkey gun at longer ranges(e.g. 50 yrds), what is an acceptable amound of pellets in the head /neck area. I pattern my gun for 25-30 yards, but I'm looking at the cabela's hevi- choke tube in .660 non-ported to try to get a longer ethical range for it.

Since I don't have experience w/longer ranges, I'm looking for what you all find acceptable.

  Don't worry about the turkey target. Use a large sheet of brown paper or cardboard.  Place an dot to aim at and let er rip.  Now center a 10" circle around the densest portion of the pattern.  You need 100 hits in that 10" circle for an effect pattern.  Lead #6's will kill a turkey at 45 yards if you have the above pattern.  The HTL shot will do it even further.
Afterwards you can adjust your sights to the point of impact.
