Good post. My favorite is usually the one I'm currently shooting. I just like guns and have as long as I can remember.

Guns come and go at my house with the exception of a select few.
1. Browning 12 ga ABolt fully rifled slugster cuz it was only made for 3 years and hard
to find.
2. Browning A5 20ga fired 3x cuz they don't make them anymore.
3. Interarms Mark 10 .223 cuz it's light and hits what I shoot at(won 4 frozen turkeys with
4. Lefever Nitro special .410 made about 1923 cuz it's a family heirloom.
5. Savage auto 5 cuz it was my fathers one and only shotgun.
6. Glock model 22 cuz the State will repossess the day I retire.

I'm waiting on a custom .280 AI on a Ruger 77 action with tang safety. We'll see if that one stays.

Everything else has a 'price tag'.

I absolutely love my Benelli Nova 12 ga. I've taken all my turkeys with it except two. Those two were shot with a Benelli Super Black Eagle II which belonged to someone else, but man what a sweet shootin' gun.
Back when I was a much younger man, I scraped up enough money to by my first bolt action deer rifle. It was a Savage 30-06. Not real pretty. Just about as basic as you can get. Amazing accuracy.
I have a Remington stainless 300 SAUM that stays in the gun cabinet. I can't seem to put away the old '06.
No good memories of the Mossberg 835. Maybe a few bruises still left though. The Benelli wiped away all the memories of the "shoulder buster".

I am a Man of few guns. I have never collected and if one came in one usually left. I have had some good one's, but the favorites stayed. when I was young I was deadly on grouse with an old Remington model 17 pump 20ga., but I out grew it. several years ago I ran across a man trying to sale a gun for some quick cash, I picked up this gun and knew i had to have it, nothing ever has fit me as well. Well I didn't have the cash and he sold it to a friend who always treated guns like fashion and changed constantly. It broke my heart and I told him not to sale it without telling me, you guessed it he did! However, I knew the guy who traded for it and he was always cash strapped so at Christmas I got it off him for $300.00 in Christmas cash. I still have it 15 years later. It is a Penderson custom O/U 12 ga, with 26" barrells. I had choke tubes installed. It is a wing shooting gem, but I get chided constantly for taking a collectors item (they were last made in 1975)to the field.

My next favorite is my turkey gun, a browning gold classic hunter semi-auto 12ga., 3" chamber , 26'' barrels with invector tubes in the black synthetic stock. Never fails to oporate and has been a turkey killing machine.
