Today I went to the range twice with my new Stoeger P350. The first time I used the factory turkey choke with Win. HV 3", 1 3/4 oz., #5 & #6s. The patterns were terrible. Overall I absolutely love the gun. It's light, easy to clean, accurate - my POA & POI are the same at 40 yards. The gun kicks like crazy but there are factory and aftermarket products to ease recoil. On the second trip I used a TruGlo Gobble Stopper Extreme .665 choke at 40 yards. Here's my loads and patterns from the second trip to the range:
Hevi-13 "bronze", 3", 2 oz., #6, 1090 fps.
10 pellets in the vitals
81 pellets in the turkey outline
165 pellets in 8" circle
Federal FC, 3", 2 oz., #6, 1150 fps.
5 pellets in the vitals
54 pellets in the turkey outline
84 pellets in 8" circle
Winchester HV, 3", 1 3/4 oz., #6, 1300 fps.
3 pellets in the vitals
28 pellets in the turkey outline
63 pellets in 8" circle
To get an 8" circle I measured a paper plate and traced the outline. As you can see the HTL load was far better than either of the others. Overall I love the gun and I'm very satisfied with the HTL numbers. I can't wait for fall turkey. Hope this helps.
