You also need to wonder why that model was discontinued. They had to have a good reason to pull it from their line.

I was looking to purchase another Remington 11-87 Sportsman, but i could not but 1 outfitter that had one on the shelf, and they wanted $7.00 minus MSRP of 914.00, (not today and tomorrow ain't looking good either)!! So i called the factory to see if they had quit making them or what the manufactering process was and they told me the Sportsman 11-87 was in production for every month except December and they had 3 shipments for June that went out and they told me who had them in a day or so i located them and now one is on the way. And they told me during this coversion that they had discontinued making the Remington 11-87 Super-Mag, i asked why and they stated they had alot of people complaining, and from what they were testing, that it had trouble cycling with the 3 1/2" shells. The 2 3/4" and 3" were ok. This was a last week conversion with Remington.
