Southern Illinois Classic

Postby allaboutshooting » August 13th, 2012, 5:28 pm

I wanted to give everyone as much advance notice as possible about the "Southern Illinois Classic" still target shoot.

It will be held at the Rend Lake Shooting Complex at Ina, Illinois on September 22, 2012. We'll start at 9:00 A.M. (Central Daylight Savings Time). That facility is just off I-57 and very easy to find. http://www.rendlakesc.com/location.htm

We will award prizes to all squad winners, to class winners and every person that attends will have an opportunity to win a very nice prize.

If you've ever wanted to see what happens at one of these shoots, it's a great opportunity.

It's a family friendly event and new shooters are welcomed. It's entirely possible for a new shooter to come home a winner. You don't need a fancy gun, just one that will chamber 3" shells in either 12 gauge or 20 gauge or both. If you don't have a gun, we'll lend you one.

This is also the same day the the largest Hunting & Fishing Day in the U.S. gets started at John A Logan college, just 20 minutes from the shoot location. It's an opportunity to spend the day with your fellow shooters and to visit a venue with many shows and vendors or all things shooting.

We hope to see you there.

Thanks,
Clark

The prize list for this shoot is growing pretty rapidly. I'll post the prizes that will be available either later this month or early next month. It looks like they will be some of the best that we've seen.

Thanks,
Clark

The prize list is still growing but will include:

ATI stocks,
EvoShield Shooting System recoil reducing shirts,
TRUGLO turkey chokes,
framed art prints
and many other prizes.

This will be the last sanctioned still target shoot before the World Championship in October. Winners at this event can win positions (seats) in that contest and some will come just for that but others will come just to shoot and see how their guns and skills compare to others.

It's also an excellent time to make sure that your turkey gun is ready for the fall season, that's just around the corner for many of us.

We hope to have a good number of young shooters and new shooters of all ages. It's a family friendly event and we want it to be fun for everyone. That's really what it's all about.

Thanks,
Clark

We're still adding to the prize list on a daily basis. More important really than the prizes is the opportunity to spend some time with your fellow shooters and enjoy the day. The last shoot we had at Rend Lake in July of this year was well attended and everyone had fun. We had several new shooters and those folks intend to come to this one and bring some friends and relatives. Once people try the sport, most of them come back and really get into it.

Thanks,
Clark

September 22nd will be here very soon and I wanted to remind everyone at T&TH about the Southern Illinois Classic still target shoot.

Some big news is that we'll have a class strictly for "Hunter Guns" as well as all of the open classes.

We've had a lot of interest in the hunter gun class from folks who just want to see how their regular turkey gun compares to others or just want to pattern their gun before the fall turkey season.

The prize list keeps growing and I hope that you'll consider coming out to this event. It's family oriented with classes for all ages, men, women and youth. If you don't have a gun, we'll lend you one.

We'd love to see you there.

It should be a very good time.

Thanks,
Clark

I just wanted to remind everyone that the "Southern Illinois Classic" still target shoot is one week from tomorrow. If you've ever wanted to try this sport, see how one works or just wanted to pattern your turkey gun for the fall season, it's a great opportunity to do that.

It would be great to see you there.

Thanks,
Clark

P.S. We have some really wonderful prizes.
