With a 25 mph wind, I think that a steady rise of the gun would be unnoticed with the birds locked onto the deeks. But I have been wrong in the past.....

using a mouth call, cluck or quick yelp to get em to gobble which will give you enough quick time to get gun up so the shock of movement slows their reaction down
