You aint never messed with a PA turkey....Turkeys where Im at kee kee and whistle and kee kee run just like contest callers...

  sorry frank but you can only kill 3 turkey in pa.....i dont think you could wipe em out and for the record i know allot of champion callers that can hunt circles around most of the jOe hunters

   i agree with you allot of kee keeing with young birds in the fall ...rule of thumb ....do what ever they do...mimic the bird

How many contest callers add clucks into there kee kee runs? From what I've heard in the fall woods alot of turkeys do it.

If a guy wins with it a few times...everyone does it..As a rule of thumb..Do what you feel a turkey does..and live with the score..Not all turkeys do it..

i live on the the NY,Pa line and your right ...one year i hunted tenn ,KY ,GA ,FL, KS...and the thoughest birds were NY & PA......

I think we have the old strain of WILD TURKEYS in these hills thats probably why they are harder to kill![;)]

I have hunted a few states and I would say WV,PA and VA are all in the same boat as far as hard to kill.I'm not sure it's the birds as much as the terrain.If you get lucky enough to get right on a turkey sometimes it's not to bad, but other times the only turkey you hear may be across 2 ridges from you and that could be a 2 hr. walk.By the time you get their he may be another ridge away.

I don't know why those states don't but as for WV,our turkey population is not all that high as their are only a few counties open for fall season. We just went to a 3 bird limit about 5 years ago. Rough weather and spotty mast crops have held our pop at level or decreasing for the last few years. We have 10" of snow on the ground right now and getting more.
