I guess they need to see the writing on the wall, and involve them with a company with strong morals and ethics. Its sad

Its amazing what some folks will do for a "shirt" at times...I think a small closely knit group serves well....at times

I have never met a pro staffer.  I am sure that if I met some, I would like some of them.  I am pretty much a solitary hunter, kids excluded, and do not attend events where I might meet a pro staffer.

What do they do, anyway?

I seen one at a golf course one time..... didn't look like much of a hunter to me with his pastels [;)]

pro staffer = promotional staff for any company. Salesman/ promoter of whatever companies products. If your talking about outdoor products....I would think, with all the competition out there,  they are necesary, a product just sitting on a shelf, does little to sell itself.  To be a good one would require you to be able to talk people into believing in the product and..... making a purchase. I think some are taken advantage of, some are paid positions..others put in lots of time for little reward, other than thier satisfacation.
