Looking to make my own Pot Call

Postby wildfireshooter » February 10th, 2014, 10:52 pm

Im new to turkey hunting this year, as well as a big DIY Guy, so if anyone could help. Im looking to make my own friction turkey call soon, but, i cant make a decision on what materials/sizing to go with. First, what is a good wood to go with for your first call? Second, What size surface/soundboard did you go with? Next, how many holes and spacing of the holes do you prefer? Im looking to go with slate or glass, any preference? What type of finish did you use? If anyone can share their top secret info (dimensions walkthrough) with me it would help extremely. If you could post pictures of your call that you made that would be awesome as I been researching this alot and seen some pretty cool designs/personalization. Thank You, Look forward to seeing your calls!!!

First question, what do you have for tools to build a call with? How are you planning on hollowing out your pot?
