K & H Long Spur slate call

Postby Sportdog7 » April 21st, 2013, 6:38 pm

I wasn't looking to get a second slate call, but after hearing this call demoed at a sports show I had to have it. I'm new to turkey hunting and I had bought a HS strut Li'l Deuce slate call with the carbon striker, after I got home with the call and practiced a bit I thought I was set to go. But this K&H was on special for 12.00 so I decided what the heck! Hope that between the 2 calls The birds like one of them. I had a fella send me a few strikers at no charge each one gives the calls a different sound, I had no idea it would make such a difference.

Any opinions good or bad on these 2 slate calls?

I have not used either of those calls, but it's always good to have more than 1 call to use. As you've noticed different strikers give pot calls different sounds. I usually carry 2 pot calls (a slate and a bronze glass) and 4 strikers, giving me 8 different sounding combos.
