Well Parker welcome to T&TH . You'll get good info, but we need to know what tools you have to work with? You'll need one of two tools, a lathe or a good floor mounted drill press, and some forstner bits.

Here is a good tutorial on turning one on a lathe. It will give you a good idea of how they do them.

In the Call Building section.
Scroll down until you find * How I make a Pot Call*, by Mose. Little over half way down.

Take a picture of the different chucks that you have for your lathe and post them. I can do up a tutorial for you here on this site based on your equipment

Parker if you lack the equipment there are sources for turned pots.  You select the call surfaces and finish them out the way you want.  There are usually a few on ebay.  It would be a good place to start.  I have whittled out some decent strikers with nothing more than my pocket knife.

Steve, I love "smoked" turkey

Do not buy the pre-turned pots on ebay. There are usually two different guys that make them and they are garbage.
