Maple/Chestnut

Postby WillowRidgeCalls » January 6th, 2014, 11:25 am

I was asked for a call by Gerry Bethge from New York NY. She is a rock maple over a chestnut box. She has a sweet voice coming out of her from this port oxford cedar striker. This is a test call, that I'll get back after they run all the tests that they want to do on it. Hope she performs well for them and shows them everything a tongue call can do.

Thanks Ted, Once the magazine runs their sound tests and finishes with the photographs for their call article that is supposed to be in the March issue. It will be interesting to see what they think of a tongue call?

Did you send instructions? It's kind of like I was saying about Nationals, I hope they have someone there that can run a tongue call. ;)

That wouldn't be a bad idea at all. I have shown the tongue calls to some guys that I work with that turkey hunt. Each one of them either made some ugly sounds or no sound at all when they first tried it. It really did surprise me how awful they got the calls to sound even after I showed them and explained it. :?
Is it turkey season yet?

Here is the article they wrote, if you'd like to read it. Some very nice looking calls in the article.
Thanks, Scott

Chalk up another one for the Gipper! It is about time that lil' caller of yours gets some recognition. I just hope it finds its way into a lot of hunter's vest. pappy
