Olive soft touch

Postby WillowRidgeCalls » February 13th, 2013, 12:18 am

Made this one for myself. I had made one for a customer and really liked the sound of it, so I made myself one for use this spring. Hope she'll excite those quiet day gobbler?

The grain kind of reminds me of Cherry. Very nice Scott. I never realized there were so many different kinds of wood in the world.
Steve, I love "smoked" turkey

Yes Steve there are many different kinds of woods showing up lately, a lot I've never seen or heard of before.
Now I want to start doing more of these soft touches with a slate surface in them and get them to perform the way these glass surface calls are perfoming. These soft touches are somewhat of a specialty call, but so far have performed very well on birds.

every time I pick up that soft touch I got from you in the gift exchange Scott I like the sound of it more and more. It makes some great tree calls, spot on yelping (hen and gobbler) and does the best gobbler cluck/cutts I have ever heard from a pot call. It nails that funky hollow tone that they have. I still prefer a slate for purring but that's about it. Also, it is difficult to get real loud with it, but that's not what it was made for anyways.
