Amboyna Burl and Ebony

Postby merocustomcalls » January 9th, 2013, 7:58 pm

I've been wanting to try my hand at wire inlay for some time. I had an idea make an Amboyna center section between Ebony with wire inlay between the pieces. I got a hold of some aluminum wire at a hardware store and the adventure ensued. This ended up being way above my skill level. I must have re-glued the wire five times. Doesn't hold a candle to Ralph Permar's corncob trumpet from Nashville last year.

The other trumpet is Kingwood with ivory and is headed to PA.

Thanks for looking.

That Ebony call looks great. I know what you mean when doing wire inlays, it is a pain, but the end results are worth it.
