Snow in michigan!

Hey guys im new to turkey hunting but I went out this morning(my opening day) and there was three inches of snow! Anything I need to know different about hunting turkeys in the snow?

The birds tend to be a little less vocal, but they like to move in it a lot better than rain. The birds like to hang around in the pines in snow they can get under them and stay dryer and as soon as it quits they like to move tward the open areas. Edges of wooded fields are a good areas to watch.

They're still grouped up pretty good around here (Calhoun Co.). My buddy saw 40 yesterday in a group and I saw about 15 together tonight coming home from work.
 
Not much changes about their behavior in the snow except the roost. As Scott noted they prefer tall pines for shelter- but that's the case all winter anyway. They'll start using deciduous trees once they leaf out.

Anything I need to know different about hunting turkeys in the snow?

It is easier to find fresh sign on where they are going and came from.[:D]

Hmmm tracking a spring gobbler, sounds intriguing. I done this in Montana once, cut gobbler tracks and followed them until I got an answer....I considered it a bonus card, LOL.
