At least you have a plan. Don't let those last few days slip away on you. I'd give about anything to be able to get back into the woods after turkeys now.
If you hit the woods when lightning's flying, you're crazier than me. That stuff will kill you and probably have a good time doing it. I used to not be scared of lightning, to the point where I'd be fishing in an aluminum boat on the water when lightning was crashing all around the place. Then, I had a real close call which scared the fool out of me. A tree beside my house got struck and the lightning came into the house and cooked the TV, washer & dryer, stereo, phone, well pump, furnace, and it left black singe marks above every receptacle in the house. The place probably would have caught fire if there were curtains covering any of the receptacles. I was walking down the hall to unplug some stuff and the next thing I know, I was waking up dizzy on the floor of a dark house that smelled burnt. My neighbor found me dazed, looking as white as a sheet. We had to get the whole place rewired and insurance didn't pay as much as I was hoping it might.
Be careful out there, Mark. I'm telling you that one close call is plenty for me. Good luck when you go. I hope you have a great rest of the turkey season.
